In april 2017, 75 years after the start ot he 18th sqaudron, Fred and Mathilde Pelder went to Adelaide to paint the name pulk on a B 25... Why? Here you can read it: 

'Pulk' geëerd na miraculeuze ontsnapping aan Japanners

Een Nederlandse jachtvlieger die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog in Nederlands-Indië op miraculeuze weet te ontsnappen aan de Japanners is postuum alsnog geëerd. Een replica van de bommenwerper van Fred Pelder draagt nu zijn nickname: 'Pulk'.

Memorial of the 18th squadron in Brisbane (Australie): 

Toen we vorige week in Brisbane waren (april 2017), hebben we gezocht naar een monument i over het 18e sqn. dat in de stad zou moeten staan. Na langdurig zoeken vonden we de juiste locatie maar de plek waar het monument stond, was nu veranderd in een bouwplaats en de plaquettes waren verdwenen. Met hulp van onze vrienden zijn er allerlei emails rondgestuurd om uit te vinden waar de plaquettes zijn gebleven en wat ermee gedaan gaat worden. Zowel de Major van Brisbane als Steve Keating from the Department of State Development hebben gereageerd op onze emails en ze stuurden deze informatie mee....

When we visited Brisbane two weeks ago (april 2017), we were looking for the memorial of the 18th sqn that supposed to be in the city. After spending an hour searching, we found the right location, but the plaques of the memorial were gone. They are building a new office building on that location now. With help of our Australian friends we did send a few emails to find out what will happen to the memorial. Both the Major of Brisbane and Steve Keating from the Department of State Development did send an email with information. The new memorial will be at the Roma Street Parklands which are very beautiful gardens in the city. The memorial is going to be a more suitable construction and the Department has consulted with the Dutch Community and your King when he last visited, about its construction.
